How Chuys Came to Be

It started in a small kitchen in Katy, TX with a big dream: to recreate the warm, indulgent spirit of giordanos-style comfort dining — deep, hearty, and made to satisfy. Founder Carlos "Chuy" Ramirez spent years perfecting family recipes before opening the doors to the public in 2009.

What began as a neighborhood secret quickly became a community staple. Word spread fast — the food was bold, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere felt like someone's home. By 2013, Chuys had expanded its kitchen, its team, and its devoted following.

Today, Chuys is a landmark in United States dining — a place where first dates, family dinners, birthday celebrations, and everyday cravings all find a welcoming table. Our giordanos pizza-inspired deep-dish specials remain crowd favorites alongside our signature Tex-Mex creations.

The First Table is Set

Carlos "Chuy" Ramirez opens the original Chuys location on Katy Fwy with 12 tables, a tight team, and a vision for bold, heart-warming food rooted in family tradition.

2011

The Deep-Dish Menu Launch

Inspired by the legendary giordano's pizza tradition, Chuys introduces its signature deep-dish pizza specials, instantly becoming the most talked-about dish in Katy, TX.

2013

Kitchen Expansion & New Team

Growing demand leads to a full kitchen renovation and the hiring of 15 additional team members. Chuys earns its first local dining award and a loyal base of thousands of regulars.

2016

Catering Service Launches
